9x iced espresso coffee [recipes for summer]

There are countless recipes for various iced coffees. Today we show you how to prepare the most delicious iced coffee drinks that are trending.

Preparing espresso for iced drinks

While it may seem like the quality of the espresso itself doesn't matter in an iced coffee drink where there are a lot of other ingredients, the opposite is true. A well prepared espresso is guaranteed to make the drink you're making much more intense and tasty.

A quality espresso is guaranteed by a reliable espresso machine. Whether you choose a traditional lever espresso machine or a portable and portable Flair espresso machine that puts espresso preparation firmly in your hands, you will never go wrong.

Are there any special procedures for making espresso into an iced drink?

Be sure to try making espresso directly on ice. That "shock" cooling of the coffee just as it hits the ice cup from the machine will help to preserve the flavors. Normally, cooling or evaporation would cause the coffee to lose both aroma and flavour. Plus, with espresso, it's within seconds! By cooling instantly, you'll help maintain the fruity, sweet profile of your espresso. Yum!

Breakfast in Sicily: coffee granita

The Granita is a typical Sicilian coffee drink that the locals use to refresh themselves on hot days. It is most often enjoyed with sweet brioche and whipped cream. There are also many variations in which to enjoy Granita. We love the coffee version. How else would you like it, right?

To prepare it you will need:

  • 1:1:1 espresso/water/sugar (e.g. 60ml/60ml/60g)
  • whipped cream for garnish

You take all three basic ingredients and throw them into a blender. Pour the mixture ideally onto a smaller baking tray, or another container suitable for your freezer. For the first hour or two, the mixture will try to freeze. Once ice has formed (from the edges at first), stir it with a fork. Again in an hour, and again in another hour. Now the granita should be ready, in the form of a crystal coffee sorbet. Serve in glasses, with whipped cream on top if you like. If you serve it like in Sicily, for breakfast, have a sweet brioche with it. You won't regret it!
