How to make quality coffee while travelling

DRIPPER V60

I am very fond of coffee using the V60 dripper. When I went down the river with my friends, I knew that I wouldn't be able to find any good coffee on the water. So I preferred to pack my V60, paper filters, measuring cup and pre-ground coffee with me. I was forbidden to bring the grinder with me, unfortunately ????

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Dripper V60 - preferably plastic
  • Paper filters
  • Measuring cup - usually included
  • approx. 15 grams of coffee - medium coarse grind
  • 250 ml of hot water + hot water to pour over the filter
  • Gas cooker / fire
  • Eschus (brewing vessel)

PROCEDURE:

Put about 300 ml of water on to boil. I used an outdoor gas stove, or boil water on an open fire in an esky. Prepare a mug and put a filter in the V60. Once the water starts to boil, run the water through the paper filter. Pour the water out of the mug. Using a measuring cup, measure out 15 grams of coffee and put it into the V60. Pour just a little water over the coffee and let it stand for about 30 seconds. Then pour in the rest of the water in circles.

AEROPRESS

If you have a little more room in your backpack, definitely pack an Aeropress. TheAeropress is lightweight, easy to clean and easy to prepare. Aeropress coffee is more aromatic and varied.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Aeropress (original packaging includes a cap for the plunger end, a funnel for stirring the coffee grounds and a scoop for stirring the coffee)
  • Paper filters
  • 16 - 20 grams of coffee
  • 250 ml of water + hot water to pour over the filter
  • Gas stove / fire
  • Eschus (brewing vessel)

Aeropress coffee can be prepared using two methods - traditional and reverse. In today's article we will tell you about the traditional one.

PROCEDURE:

Heat the water in the espresso pot on an open fire or gas stove. Place a paper filter inside the removable plastic lid and pour hot water through it. This will heat up the Aeropress and the cup and the filter will then adhere better to the Aeropress. Pour out the water. Measure out your coffee and put inside. Pour the water over the coffee in the Aeropress in a circular motion to mix the coffee evenly. Stir the water and coffee using a paddle stirrer for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then insert the plunger and slowly push it down (about 20 seconds) until you hear a hissing sound. The coffee is ready!

Place a paper or metal filter in the strainer, then rinse with water. Place the tube on the strainer and pour the ground coffee inside.
