WHAT YOU NEED
- 200 grams of good quality vanilla ice cream
- 2 shots of espresso / or use a mocha pot
- 50 ml milk
- 20 grams of Dulce De Leche - milk caramel
- Pink sea salt
- Ice
WHAT IS DULCE DE LECHE
Dulce De Leche is a milk caramel that is especially popular in South America and Spain. It is suitable for toast, yoghurt, desserts, pancakes or just a spoonful. It can be bought in shops, but you can also make it yourself at home.
RECIPE FOR DULCE DE LECHE
(Recipe for 1 ½ cups)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 4 cups of milk
- 1 ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
PROCEDURE
- In a tall cast iron pot, mix milk, sugar and baking soda.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stir constantly, then reduce the heat.
- Stir the mixture occasionally and after approximately one hour, stir the mixture more frequently. The milk is beginning to caramelise.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, once the mixture is stiffer, you're done.
- Pour into a preserving jar. Let the mixture cool and refrigerate for up to 4 weeks.
RECIPE FOR ICED COFFEE WITH SALTED CARAMEL
- Prepare your coffee. If you have a coffee maker, two shots of espresso. If not, use amoka pot , for example .
- Prepare a blender. Put the ice cream, coffee, milk, half the dulce de leche and a larger pinch of salt in it.
- Blend until the texture of the iced coffee is completely thick.
- Put ice in a tall 300 ml glass and pour the prepared iced coffee.
- Finally, garnish the iced coffee with the rest of the dulce de leche, stick in a straw and enjoy the summer to the full!
