Trinity Zero: instructions for making coffee

Trinity Zero travel coffee machine

Australian company Trinity has brought something to the coffee market that has never been seen before. Their Zero manual coffee machine works on a similar principle to the now well-known Aeropress.

But what makes the Trinity Zero different is its size. Or rather, small. The dimensions of 9x6.5 cm and the weight of just 115 g directly invite one to pack the Zero in a backpack along with a grinder, coffee beans and a thermos and go on a trip.

TheTrinity Zero consists of 3 parts: the coffee maker body, the lid with plunger and the coffee strainer with metal filter.

Everything is made from recyclable materials and no part of the coffee maker contains BPA. Because of the metal filter used, you won't have to worry about where to put the paper one after each brew.

How do I make coffee in the Trinity Zero manual coffee machine?

  1. Disassemble the coffee maker.
  2. Pour 18 g of quality coffee freshly ground to a medium coarseness into the strainer.
  3. Place the strainer on and turn it to secure the Trinity Zero.
  4. Place the Trinity Zero on a cup or teapot.
  5. Fill the coffee maker with hotwater (approximately 94°C) to the marked mark.
  6. Close the Trinity Zero with the lid.
  7. Allow the coffeeto brew for approximately 30 s .
  8. Slowly and repeatedly (approx. 10 times) press the plunger on the lid.

Trinity Zero: 3 tips for making great coffee on the go

    1. The whole extraction should take around one minute. Still, don't be afraid to experiment.
    2. The finished coffee is very concentrated. I recommend topping itup with 100 to 200 ml of hot water if you like classic filter coffee.
    3. If you like cappuccino or flat white you can use whipped milk instead of water.
