VICTORIA ARDUINO BRAND STORY

1905

Victoria Arduino was founded in 1905 by Piero Teresio Arduino. Pier had a passion for the principles of physics, so the idea of a steam locomotive was the basis of his machine. He later added an interest in speed and the first prototypes of the Victoria machine were created, which he introduced in 1905.

In principle, the train and the coffee machine gradually made it possible to connect the population both in transport and social aspects. The development of machines was a daily topic at the time. Coffee shops began to evolve, people became more interested in meeting in public and bonding in commercial spaces. The current coffee machines were no longer meeting the demands in terms of performance. These were the reasons why Pier went in the direction of evolution, he wanted to ensure maximum safety and ease of preparation. But with this came the need to appeal to change from the ground up.

LEONETTO CAPPIELLO

Another important milestone was in 1922, when the painter Cappiello became involved in advertising. The poster for this advertisement shows a train in motion and a passenger who is able to prepare an espresso at speed. It captures just that quick moment that is enough to make a good coffee. The poster appealed to the proper flair of the coffee machine and the standard of living at the time. At the time Victoria Arduino broke into the subconscious partly due to the fact that Cappiell was really creating posters for well-known and quality brands. The style of this poster was so timeless that today it represents the best of that era.

1910

Pier Teresio Arduino was trying to appeal more to the immediate preparation of a drink and this was reflected in his new device. Here he introduced filter holders and thus a quick contact for the preparation of coffee. His new creation was patented in 1910 under No. 108873 with registration No. 325/15910.

CONTINUED IN THE 1920S

Home coffee machine

Victoria Arduino was already thinking of families at this early time. The range included one small coffee machine, 30 centimetres high, which was electrically operated. Full chrome plating was used for appearance and it really was a quality addition to homes of the time.

Wall-mounted coffee machine

Water pipes were installed in the walls, these were connected directly to the coffee machines and the hand controlled the flow of the correct volume of water, which was fed into the heater by a piston pump.

Preparing coffee below the boiling point

In 1927, Victoria Arduino took the next step by obtaining a patent for making coffee with water below the boiling point.

Mobile bar

The carrel bar was the first travelling stall. A prototype that you still see today in many major cities. A barista can sit on a bike, get a gas burner and heat his coffee machine with it, he can make coffee for the people around him there.

VENUS

Venus coffee makers are still on the market today. Their origin is recorded around before 1970, when another innovation came up with these coffee makers. This was the vibrating pump. Their design also contributed to their popularity, which was confirmed by their upright design that was popular among clients.

After the turn of the millennium, there was a long-standing collaboration with Nuova Simonelli and the owner of Victoria Arduino decided to merge the two manufacturers. Michele Mercandelli has thus helped enormously in spreading awareness for both coffee machine manufacturers, which today pass on much know-how and support for coffee preparation worldwide.

MYTHOS ONE

The name Mythos can sometimes evoke a myth in English. But this grinder is not really a myth. Since the days of brand grouping, the appeal has begun to evolve to details and better results. This is what Mythos One represents, because it is truly a pioneer of new and improved technologies in the professional grinder segment.
