What is Babyccino?

What is babyccino

As you may notice, the word babyccino is a combination of the words "baby" and "cappuccino". So simply put, it is cappuccino that is meant for babies. At first glance, its appearance resembles this baby drink and cappuccino.

In fact, all it has in common with a cappuccino is whipped milk foam, which in the basic babyccino recipe is additionally garnished with cinnamon, cocoa or marshmallow.

This fun drink is designed for children aged one-and-a-half to eight years old, for whom café parents are looking for a healthier alternative to caffeinated drinks.

Where did the babyccino come from?

We would look for the origins of babyccino coffee inAustralia or New Zealand. In these two countries there are constant arguments about which nationality came up with it first. It's a similar story with the popular Flat White, which Australians and New Zealanders also argue over.

However, many people agree that the term first appeared in Australia when the drink appeared on cafe menus in the early 2000s.

Even the word "babyccino" was officially included in the Australian National Dictionary in 2016, as it is considered an important part of the country's coffee culture.

Today, babyccino is served inmany cafes around the world, especially those that have kept up with the times and are not afraid of coffee novelties.

Not always, however, is it listed on the establishment's drink menu and cafes often prepare it only on request. Who could say no to baby eyes either?
