Psoralea corylifolia, commonly known as Babchi or Bakuchi, is an annual herb growing in the Indian plains.The oil is extracted from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia and has long been used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for its magical effects in the treatment of various skin diseases. Babchi is honored in Ayurveda as "Kustanashini", which means "destroyer of leprosy".

Psoralea corylifolia is one of the most popular traditional Chinese medicines and is officially listed in the Chinese pharmacopoeia. The plant has immense biological significance and has been widely used since ages for its magical effect against several skin diseases such as leucoderma and leprosy.
