Coffee from the Kayanza region
The Kibingo processing station is located in the village of Kayanza in northern Burundi. Kibingo serves 1,739 registered Greenco coffee growers spread over 18 hills in the area.
Kibingo participates in several farmer support projects, including livestock and various Farmer Hub projects that focus on strengthening cooperatives and improving yields. Most of the coffee trees in Burundi are of the Red Bourbon variety and the harvest takes place between March and July.
The cherries are first selectively picked, then checked for quality and after careful sorting, they are ground within 6 hours. They are processed using the Honey method, which means that the kernels are sun-dried (2 to 3 weeks) with some of the sticky flesh, giving them a unique and complex sweet cup.

What will this cup of coffee taste like?
The coffees of Burundi are mostly produced by small-scale growers who take great care in their cultivation. These coffees are characterised by their predominantly sweet, citrus and fruity notes.
This particular Kibingo coffee, of the Red Bourbon variety, is processed using the Honey method, so you can enjoy its naturally sweet taste complemented by fruity notes of blackberries and pears. This complex flavour profile will simply enchant you.
Recommended for espresso. The medium roast profile has been created for this method of coffee preparation. In addition to using it for espresso from a lever or automatic coffee machine, you can also enjoy your coffee from a Moka pot or a coffee pot.
