Coffee from the Kayanza region
The Yandaro processing station is located near the border with Rwanda, in Kayanza Province. The proximity of the Kibira rainforest and the large river of the same name, Yandaro, are ideal conditions for growing this selection of coffee.
This station works with more than 3190 local coffee growers . The average altitude is 1,800 m above sea level and more than 1,200 tons of coffee are processed here during the harvest season. Yandaro is involved in a number of projects aimed at helping and supporting farmers , including the Livestock Project and a number of Farmer Hub projects.
After selective hand picking, the cherries are processed into the so-called wet method . It is first sorted and then ground. Subsequently, the coffee is fermented for 10 to 12 hours and then sorted and washed again. Finally, the parchment is transferred to drying tables where it slowly dries for 2 to 3 weeks .

How will this cup of coffee taste?
Coffees from Burundi are mainly produced by small farmers who really care about their cultivation. Sweet , citrus and floral tones are typical for these coffees.
This washed Red Bourbon coffee from the Yandaro farm boasts fruity notes of apricots and a pleasant citrus acidity , which is perfectly balanced by the aftertaste of black tea . It thus offers a complex cup full of unique and balanced flavors.
We recommend for the preparation of filtered coffee . The fine roasting profile was created precisely for this method of coffee preparation. In addition to using it for classic drip coffee from a dripper or drip coffee maker, you can also enjoy coffee from a French Press, AeroPress or Chemex .
