Coffee from the Huila region
La Victoria includes producers from Santa Maria and Palermo in the Huila region of Colombia. The farmers are part of the 'Productores del futuro' project , which translates as 'producers of the future'. The farms are located at an altitude of 1,700-2,200 metres above sea level at the foot of the Huila volcano.
La Victoria produces exceptional coffees with a cupping score of 84.5 to 85 points. Jamer Cubillos is an exemplary member of the 'Productores del Futuro' programme. He comes from Finca El Triangulo and represents the third generation of coffee growers. Jamer is passionate about preserving tradition and intends to pass on his knowledge to his siblings.
To achieve the best quality, the farmers carefully select only ripe cherries, fermenting them for 24 hours and then for a further 36-72 hours after removing the skin and part of the flesh (called depulping). The coffee is then washed and usually dried on the terrace.
How will this cup of coffee taste?
Colombian coffees are characterised by their full body, pleasant acidity and rich flavour. A cup of this washed coffee from La Victoria will enchant you with its acidic notes of dried fruit and orange peel, subtly complemented by the sweet taste of milk chocolate.
Recommended for espresso. The medium roast profile has been developed for this method of coffee preparation. In addition to using it for espresso from a lever or automatic coffee machine, you can also enjoy your coffee from a Moka pot or a jazzeria.
