Coffee from the Turrialba region
One of the largest and oldest coffee farms in Costa Rica, Aquiares Estate , is located on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano . With more than a century of tradition, the farm is known for its sustainability and support of the local community. The owners of the farm, the Robelo Family , emphasize coffee quality and environmental protection .
Aquiares Estate manages the entire coffee production process , from cultivation to processing, which allows it to guarantee the highest quality . The farm experiments with varieties resistant to climate change and has been certified by the Rainforest Alliance . These innovations make it carbon negative and a leader in sustainability.
The coffee is harvested by hand and then the cherries are processed using the Red Honey method : after washing, the beans are peeled, leaving 80-90% of the pulp. The grains are first dried for two days on ceramic terraces and then for another 10 days on raised beds at controlled temperatures .
How will this cup of coffee taste?
This Costa Rican Marsellesa and Obatá variety from the Aquiares Estate boasts fruity notes of guava and a sweet taste of honey , perfectly balanced by the aftertaste of black tea . It thus offers a complex cup full of unique and balanced flavors.
The coffee is roasted using the omni roast method and is therefore suitable for preparing filtered coffee and espresso . A neutral roasting profile has been created, from which you will get a great taste, no matter which method you are a fan of.
Enjoy drip coffee from a dripper , drip coffee maker , French Press , AeroPress or Chemex . However, it will also taste great as an espresso from a lever or automatic coffee machine, a Moka pot or a džezva .
