Coffee from Western Kenya
New Chesikaki PB coffee from the Bungoma region of Western Kenya is characterised by its bright acidity, fruity notes and smooth body. Its high quality is assured by the care taken at all stages of production, from cultivation to fully washed processing. The coffee is produced by more than 5 000 small farmers who supply their crops to the New Chesikaki Factory.
The coffee cherries are harvested by hand, carefully selecting only those that are ripe. The cherries then undergo fermentation and drying on raised beds, which takes 7 to 14 days. This process ensures the perfect flavour and optimum moisture content of the resulting coffee.
New Chesikaki PB is made from so-called peaberry beans, which are the result of a natural mutation whereby only one bean is produced in the coffee cherry instead of two half-beans. Peaberry beans are smaller, rounder and have a sweeter flavor profile, which adds to their popularity among coffee lovers.
How will this cup of coffee taste?
Kenyan coffees are known for their bright acidity and complex flavor profile. They are mostly grown at high altitudes and processed using the wet method, which ensures their clean and fresh taste. This particular coffee from New Chesikaki Factory will enchant you with fruity notes of blackberries and strawberries, which are perfectly complemented by the sweet aftertaste of caramel.
Recommended for filter coffee. It is for this method of coffee preparation that the fine roasting profile has been created. In addition to using it for classic drip coffee from a dripper or drip coffee machine, you can also enjoy coffee from a French Press, AeroPress or Chemex.
