Our organically created prickly pear oil, also known as Barbary Fig Oil or Nopal Oil, is cold-pressed from the seeds of Optunia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear, literally "prickly pear") and grows in the arid valleys of southwestern Morocco.

The resulting oil has a fresh green colour and a delicate, natural scent reminiscent of hay. Although a recent addition to the industry, prickly pear oil has gained much recognition for the benefits of its excellentbioactive components (vitamins A, E and K, fatty acids, phytosterols and polyphenols) in skin care and cosmetic applications.

The prickly pear plant - also known as Barbary Fig, Cactus Pear, Nopal Cactus and many other common names - is a member of the Cactus family (Cactaceae) native to Mexico; has been naturalized and widely cultivated in the southern United States, the Mediterranean region, and other arid to semi-arid parts of the world.

Extremely rich in vitamin E and flowing antioxidants, prickly pear oil is one of the most effective, luxurious skin care ingredients on the market.

BENEFITS OF USING THE OIL

Prickly pear oil contains a higher concentration (approximately 150%) of vitamin E than argan oil, which helps promote smootherand brighter skin; as well as vitamin K, which helps improve the appearance of dark spots, hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tones. This fast-absorbing, nutrient-rich oil is also high in linoleic acid, which helps maintain a supple appearance and brightens the skin.
