What is Rooibos and where does it come from?

Rooibos is a type of tea derived from the Aspalathus linearis shrub, which grows exclusively in South Africa. It is known for its mild, sweet taste and reddish-brown colour. Unlike traditional tea, it does not contain caffeine, making it an ideal choice for consumption throughout the day, including the evening hours.

What are the benefits of Rooibos?

Rooibos is rich in antioxidants that can help fight free radicals and promote overall health. In addition, it is suitable for people with caffeine sensitivity as it contains no caffeine. Rooibos is also known for its positive effect on digestion and promoting hydration due to its high mineral content.

How is Rooibos prepared?

Rooibos can be prepared just like regular tea. Use one teaspoon of dried Rooibos per cup of hot water and allow to infuse for 5-7 minutes. This tea can be drunk warm or chilled as a refreshing iced drink. Since it doesn't get bitter, you can infuse it for longer if you prefer a stronger taste.

What types of Rooibos do we offer?

We offer several varieties of Rooibos from South Africa, the home of Rooibos. We offer Rooibos in 1kg packs as well as smaller packs of 70g, allowing you to choose the quantity to suit your needs.
